Jumping In

It's hard to jump in the water with one foot out and one foot in.

I have been thinking on this for awhile, in fact many people have suggested this to me. After Fall 2012 I will be a certified ECE (Early Childhood Educator), provided I pass everything of course. I love to travel so why not put them together? Yes why not? Likely because I'm a big chicken about doing things on my own.

A friend of mine was telling me all about how her friend is an au pair in the summer time when she is out of school for 4 months. I of course got the information but didn't do anything with it. Until yesterday when a friend of mine from work came in to visit for the last time before she leaves to go to school in Australia. I was once again very interested in what she was doing. So since I only worked 2 days last week. (Yes I have been slacking on blogging and commenting and I was even off work) The site is Au Pair World, yes you can google it and yes if you have children and want me to come live with you please contact me! So I looked around, and looked at some potential families and thought why not sign up now. It is basically like a host family and au pair dating site, you have suggested profiles and have the ability to contact one another without giving out any personal contact information. I signed up and sent out some messages and then started looking into it further. I can officially say that I am superbly interested!

I am looking to become an au pair starting Janaury 2013 in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or the UK. If you know anyone who is looking for an au pair in any of those places tell them to look up Au Pair World and me!

  1. Travel is wonderful and if you have a chance of experiencing other cultures while being paid, take it.

  2. Well, I couldn't let this go without comment. Australia??? Hmmmmm, I have relations there. As you know. Of course one particular relation is incommunicado. Seriously this is a great way to travel, meet new people and earn some money! Good luck and I will mention it to my brother who's girlfriend has young grandchildren - perhaps they are in the market. I talk to him once a month. Ann TBL

  3. I've always been a "jump in with both feet" kind of person. Do something, even if it's wrong. Then I got married to a person who spends three months thinking about moving a piece of furniture.

It sound wonderful. Ah, to be young again. Go for it and good luck.
